It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Judith Ella (Vail) Gregoire which occurred at the Loch Lomond Villa on Monday, December 25th, 2017. Born 1940, in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Leslie (Lang) Vail. In her earlier years, Judy served in the Navy in Halifax. She worked at the Saint John Ship Building for several years and also worked as a Commissionaire on the Harbour Bridge. She loved to read, she enjoyed doing crafts and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her daughters Katherine Gregoire; Jennifer Hubbard (John); son William Gregoire all of Saint John; brother Donald Vail of Fredericton; sisters Susan McLean and Joanne Vail of Fredericton, Terry Lynch of Edmonton; grandchildren Ashley, Katie, Tyler, Jamie, Meghan, and Sadie; great grandchildren Gabriel, Lucy and Isaac; special pets Chloe and Lucky; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Judy was predeceased by her husband Gerald and her brother Ian.
A special thanks to the entire staff of Elm House for their kindness and compassion.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). As per Judy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will take place from the former St. Joachim’s Parish (603 Loch Lomond Road) on Saturday, December 30th at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Judy may be made to C.A.R.M.A, The Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
