Tarter, Judy Annette (nee Griffin), 71, of Georgetown, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2017.
Judy was born in Troy, Alabama to the late James R. Griffin and the late Frances L. Stewart on March 3, 1945. She moved to Pensacola, Florida, as a young teenager and graduated from Pensacola Tech High School in 1963. She worked as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Clerk for many years and lived in several interesting places, including Southern California, Northwest Washington, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Southern Ontario.
Judy was a loving mom to Lori (Kevin) and Roger, and a thoughtful and generous grandma to Jordan, Jacob and Faith, and to Sydney and Hayley. Judy is survived by her step-mother, Betty, her brother, Tim and his wife, Nancy, and her sisters, Lisa and Kim. She is predeceased by her brother, Frazier.
An Open House Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held in Georgetown on March 18, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
Donations in memoriam may be made to the Canadian or American Cancer Society. Our family extends their gratitude to the caring nurses and doctors at Georgetown Hospital and the thoughtful staff at CCAC, especially Eva, whose visits were always much anticipated. We would also like to thank J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home for the compassion they showed to our family during this difficult time.
Judy left us with so many precious memories; her genuineness, laughter and charm will forever be in our hearts.
