May 23, 1936 – April 23, 2017
Beloved husband for 57 years to Beryl Susan Stortz (Nee Kersh). Loved father of Steve (Brenda), Dave (Susanna) and Ted (Cathy). Grandfather to John (Raygan), Rob (Miranda), Lorissa (Wayne), Meagan, Amanda (Brian) and Greg (Christos). Special grandfather to Ashley, Sherri B. and Meagan B. and Nicole and Brandon. Great grandfather to Landon and Carter. He was predeceased by his parents Austin Stortz and Eileen Stortz (Nee McKeown). Brother Ambrose and Sister-in-law Theresa. He is survived by his brothers Vic (Paulene), Orval (Laura) and his sister Mary Renner (Jim). He is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Joe’s family will receive relatives and friends at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Of The Visitation Church, 16 Cooper St., Cambridge, on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11 am. Cremation to follow. The family appreciates all the T.L.C. Joe has received from doctors and nursing staff in Mount Forest, Guelph, Palmerston, Freeport, Grand River and St. Mary’s in Kitchener. Also loving care from CCAC, PSW supervisors and nurses. Plus visits and communion from St. Mary of the Visitation Church and Freeport Palliative Care Teams. Donations made to the Kidney Foundation or St. Mary Of The Visitation Church would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards will be made available at the funeral home.
