Obituary for John VandenBroek
Died at St. Josephs Hospice is Sarnia on Sunday, April 23, 2017. JOHN VandenBROEK, of Petrolia, was in his 88th year. John was a loving husband for 61 years to Joanna (nee VandeSchoot). He will be missed by his children Bill (Terry), Frank (Ruth Anne), Mary VandenBroek, Michael (the late Denise), John, Jim, Theresa (Ron) White, Stephen (Kathy), Stuart, and Mark (Dawn). He was grandfather to twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. John was the son of the late Martin and Wilhelmina, and a step-son to Francis. He was the brother of Mary (the late Tony), the late Wilhelmina (the late Tony), Cathy (Andy), the late Harry (Tina), Henk (Ria), Rieka (the late Bill), the late Joe (Kathy), Wilma (the late Ted), Pieta (Herman), Clara (Mark), Nolda (Carl), Marty (Karen), Fran (Barry), Harold (Adrianne), Frank, Rick (Kim), and Chuck (Dee). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 9 pm at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) or St. Josephs Hospice (www.stjosephshospice.ca).
