Peacefully at the Lennox and Addington County Hospital in Napanee with family by his side, on Saturday, September 16, 2017. John Allen Layfield formerly of Deseronto at age 89. Beloved husband of Melia Berkhof-Layfield and the late Shirley Layfield. Dear father of Dennis Layfield (Dina); Norma Fitchett (Brian); Brian Layfield (Patti); Karen Aman (Peter); Dave Layfield (Shelley Allworth) and Susie Vick (Drew). Also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother of the late Bob; Bill; Ron and Charles. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Napanee. Memorial donations made to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
