John Jack Joseph Howatt – 2017

John “Jack” Joseph Howatt
John “Jack” Joseph Howatt, 91, of Moncton, passed
away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, May 16,
2017.
Born in Tryon, PEI, he was the son of the late Percy and
Marjorie (Wood) Howatt. Jack was retired from the T. Eaton Co. Ltd.
with 35 years’ service (Delivery). He was a member of Mount
Royal United Church, the Eaton’s Quarter Century Club and
former member of Charlie’s Angels Round Dance Group and
Hobans Heroes Square Dance Group.
Jack will be sadly missed by his wife of over 64 years,
Shirley (Simpkins) Howatt of Moncton; sons, David Howatt (Eileen) of
Bon Accord, AB and Douglas Howatt (Tanya) of Moncton; grandchildren,
Lisa, Emily, Bretany and Colin; sister, Mildred Francis of Lady Fane,
PEI; sisters-in-law, Shirley Howatt of Victoria, PEI and Annie Howatt
of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his
brothers, Maurice and Arnold and sister, Eleanor.
A Memorial Service to celebrate and honour Jack’s
life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain
Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Reception
in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment
will be held in Elmwood Cemetery.
Family flowers only. If so desired, in Jack’s
memory, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or a charity
of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Online
