CORNEY, John Alfred Sr. – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Corney Sr. at his home on Friday November 24, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 32 years to Gail Corney. Loving father of Claudia Wyatt (Rob), John Jr. (Michelle), Jull Sutherland (Ralph) and Caroline Reid (John Laslo). Predeceased by his son Robert, his parents Alfred and Agnes and his sister Sally Humphries. Dear brother-in-law of Robert Humphries, Donna Keenan, Arnold Pedersen, Wyona Hyde (Gary), Randy Pedersen (Michelle) and Rev. Derek Pedersen. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his beloved dog Abby. John was a distinguished member of the real estate community, faithfully serving the Niagara area for over 50 years. John was also a proud member of the US 82nd Airborne. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am at St. Patrick’s Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice Niagara, and would be appreciated by his family. Online condolences at www.pattersonfuneralhome.com
