Peacefully with her daughter by her side, at the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, on Sunday morning, December 25th, 2016. Joan Doreen Cruickshank-Hawton, of Owen Sound, at the age of 83 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Carl Hawton (2011) and the late Donald Cruickshank (1988). Loving mother of Wendy McLean and her husband, Mervyn, of Owen Sound, Proud Nan of Laura Breadner (Daryl), of Fonthill, Heather McLean (Mark Stoddart), of Uxbridge, Ian McLean (Brooklynn), of Rockwood and Nana Joan of Luke, Claire, Emmy, Hayden, Henry, Kherington and Myer. Dear sister-in-law of Wilf Brown, of Simcoe. Predeceased by her parents, Bud and Elsie Fleming; her siblings, Helen Brown, Betty (Allan) Acton, George (Val) Fleming, Ronald (Marie) Fleming and Roland (Rita) Fleming.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. A Funeral Service for Joan Hawton will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, December 29th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Heather McCarrel officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce as an expression of sympathy.
