Jean Paul Melanson
1935-2017
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the
passing of Jean Paul Melanson at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday,
July 6, 2017. Jean Paul was born on June 27, 1935 in Moncton, NB. He
was the son of the late Edward and Theotiste (Gallant) Melanson.
He will be sadly missed by his step sons, Gary
Richard (Catherine), Danny Richard (Patricia), sisters, Simonne
Bernard (Rheal), Therese Melanson (Cecile Goguen); nine grandchildren,
thirteen great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Jean Paul worked as a brick layer for many years. He
was a diehard fan of the Montreal Canadians and loved his Toronto Blue
Jays. He married his sweetheart, Fay, who already had three
young children, at age 21. He loved these children as if they were his
own. Jean Paul and Fay enjoyed bowling together and some golfing in
their younger days. He had a tender heart of gold, loved to cook and
was known for his delicious turkey stuffing. His contagious laugh will
be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his
parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother Rita LeBlanc, step son
Ricky Richard and brother
Raymond Melanson.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers &
Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Sunday, July 9,
2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Honouring Paul’s
wishes there will be no funeral service.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
Donations in Paul’s memory made to the Shriners
Hospital would be appreciated by his family.
