Obituary for Jean Freriks (Poppe)
JEAN FRERIKS
Jean Freriks, 95, formerly of Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Wildwood Care Centre, St. Marys on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.
Beloved wife of the late Henry Freriks (2012). Dear mother of Henry Freriks (Mary) of Kitchener, Anita Giagnocavo (Greg) of Guatemala, Mary Barton of Holland, Michigan, Maggie Veltheer of Richmond Hill, John Freriks (Barb) of Mitchell, Lucy Greenhow (Andrew) of Loretto and Trisha Zanin (John) of London. Loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Mies Kolkman (Bert) of Monkton, Tonnie Blom, Hein Poppe, Marie Ten Have, Gerard Poppe, Louis Poppe and Anton Poppe, all in Holland. Lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Annie Poppe of Mitchell and the Freriks family.
Predeceased by her parents Henry and Hendrika Poppe, brothers Herman, Willy (Wilhelmina), brothers and sisters in Holland, son-in-law Bob Veltheer, grandson Robbie and great granddaughter Natasha.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dublin on Thursday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Clare Coleman – celebrant. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre, 116 Montreal St., Mitchell. Spring interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dublin. Memorial donatons to Home on the Hill or Autism Ontario – London would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com. The family would like to thank the staff at Wildwood Care Centre and St. Marys Hospital, St. Marys for their care and compassion.
