Jean Alma Bennett
Jean Alma Bennett, 88, of The Briarlea,
Moncton, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at her residence on
Thursday, January 12, 2017, in the company of family.
Jean was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, part of a large
family of seven brothers and sisters. She was pre deceased by her
brothers Roy and Murray and is survived by brothers Robert and David
of Toronto, Ont and her sister Dorothy of Montreal, PQ and Audrey of
Dartmouth NS.
She spent her early years in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia attending
high school and graduating from a local business college where she
trained to be an administrator. It was there she met her future
husband Allan Bennett of Toronto, Ont.
Jean and Allan then relocated to Saint John, New Brunswick
where they raised their children, Richard (Danielle) of Dieppe, NB and
John (Tracey) of Danville, CA. They became grandparents to Erica, Jake
and Ally in the coming years.
Jean spent her time in Saint John working both as an
administrator in the New Brunswick school system and doing some part
time interior design work. She spent time with friends and playing
golf at both Riverside and Westfield Golf Clubs. She enjoyed
travelling to favorite vacation spots in both Florida and New
Hampshire. Jean was an excellent cook and truly enjoyed preparing food
for others and was especially adept at baking many varieties of bread
and baked goods.
She and her husband Allan were married for 49 years until
Allan passed away in April of 2001 at the age of 79.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pierre Beaulieu and the
Staff of The Briarlea for the care and compassion shown to our
mother.

Funeral arrangements are private at the request of the
family. Interment will be held in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery, Saint
John. In lieu flowers, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke
