Obituary of Janice Sherrard
Janice Kathleen Sherrard, 61 of Canning passed away on October 5, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born on January 10, 1956, she was the daughter of Evelena and the late Wilbur Sherrard.
Janice grew up in the Canning and Kingsport area. She had a tremedous love for her family. When Janice and her siblings were younger, and if she felt someone may have offended one of them, she was up to the task of being the one to make sure that person knew it was not acceptable. Janice was certainly seen as the protecter of her family.
Throughout her life, Janice had a loving disposition, a person who loved to see others smile. With such a dry sence of humor, creating a laughter in your belly with jokes and teasing. She made anyone she was around her feel as though they were family and they were loved.
Janice had a passion for travel. She fell in love with Cape Breton and visited there as often as she could. Another great love for her was the outdoors, always maintaining beautiful gardens and very much enjoyed a wonderful fishing trip.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses that helped her through her battle with cancer.
Janice had a giving nature and even at the end of her life she wanted to donate to medical science. This, she was able to succeed at and was accepted as a lasting gift to Medical Science and Teaching at the University of Dalhousie to become part of the Advancement of Medical Education and Research.
Your are a beautiful person, Janice we all love you and will miss you.
Janice wanted no fuss to be made over her, so by her request no service will take place. Memorial donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation – Carry Me Fund or Valley Regional Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dalhousie University, Memorial Page hosted by Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
I close my eyes as I wipe a tear.
I just keep wishing you were still here.
I will hold all the memories deep in my heart.
Though these memories deep will never part.
I close my eyes as I wipe a tear.
I just keep wishing this pain would disappear.
I didn’t get the chance to say my last good-bye.
I just didn’t think you could ever die.
I close my eyes as I wipe a tear.
All of your love I will always hold near.
In my heart and my mind, I will never be alone.
When my times comes…
I will meet you in Heaven once again!
We love you deeper than you know xo
