James “Jim” L. Butler
1943-2016
James “Jim” L. Butler, 73, of Moncton,
passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, December 10,
2016, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Moncton, he was the son
of the late Leslie and Nora (Daly) Butler.
Jim was an office manager for over 45 years with
Cooks Building Supplies retiring in 2012, he was a member of St.
John’s United Church, The Air Force Veterans’
Club, The 31 Club, he was a former volunteer Firefighter with the
Moncton Fire Department, in his earlier years he played on the Codiac
Crane Flyers Hockey Team, he enjoyed playing darts, shooting pool,
playing golf and spending time with his
family.
Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years,
Donna (Lewis) Butler, his sons, Jason Butler (Pam) of Halifax, NS; and
Shawn Butler of Moncton, as well as one precious granddaughter, Sophie
Jean Butler.
Jim was the last surviving member of his immediate
family, In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother
Mike Butler.
Jim’s family would like to thank the Staff
and Nurses of the Extra Mural Driscoll Unit, The Cardiac Care Unit of
the Moncton Hospital, Fords Pharmacy as well as his team of doctors,
Dr. Winkler, Dr. Toal, Dr. Teskie, Dr. Forgie, Dr. Allanach, Dr.
Doucet and Dr. Alqdah for the excellent care they all provided for
Jim. Also a special thanks to the Moncton Fire Department and all of
our family and friends who have been there and shown support to our
family throughout Jim’s illness.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes no visitation
hours or funeral service will be held.
Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in the
spring.
