Jacqueline Gail Jackie Hynes

On March 21, 2017, at the young age of 50 and after a brave battle with Brain Cancer our beloved sister Jacqueline Gail Hynes “Little One”, was reunited with our parents Kevin and Josephine Hynes.
Born in Happy Valley, Labrador, she resided in Lawrencetown, NS and spent her final days at Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour.
Jacqueline graduated from Our Lady Queen of Peace High School in Happy Valley, Labrador, and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts at Dalhousie University.
She spent a lifetime advocating for people’s rights and the disabled through her various careers and her volunteer work. She began her career working for the Labrador Metis Association, and the National Association of Volunteer Bureau and Centres. She was very proud to be a part of the Halifax Regional Police Association and the Department of Justice and leaves behind many great friends and coworkers.
She was a member of the Board of Directors for the Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia and represented the provincial agency at the National level as Board Member with Epilepsy Canada. Jacqueline was known for her love of her fur babies and thoroughly enjoyed taking them to dog obedience and training classes. She devoted her life to Maggie, Lucy, and then Sherlock and Emme who dearly miss her. She was an avid runner and enjoyed swimming, Jiu jitsu and loved to dabble with home renovations. She will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile and sense of humour, her kindness to others and her unbelievable optimism and courage, no matter what life handed her.
She is survived by her sister Cathleen (Brent) Lafave, Clarence Creek, Ont, Phyllis (Mark) Clarke, Sussex, NB; brother Kevin, Orleans, Ont.; nieces and nephews, Mark, Joshua, Allan, Julia, Patrick, Ashley, Jessica, Kaitryn, Laura, and Jennifer.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her infant brother Robert.
