Richards, Ivan Paul
Born March 24, 1956- Died July 21, 2017
Peacefully and surrounded by his family at the age of 61 after a short battle with cancer, Ivan Richards joined those loved ones gone before him. Survived by his loving wife of forty years Melva Richards, his son Scott (Suzie) and his daughters Jody McLean (Steve) and Claudette Richards (Herman Plotts). He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Tyler Schisler (Alexis), Nicholas, Olivia Richards and his great granddaughter Lorelei Schisler. Papa will be welcomed by his granddaughter, The Late Katie Richards. Ivan will be fondly remembered by his siblings Barbara Blondeau (Don), Robert Richards (Gislene), James Richards, Brenda Parent, Neil Richards (Lyann), Karen Richards and his brother and sisters in law Kevin Merrigan, Claudette Richards and Christine Laundriault (Ernie). Ivan was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Margaret Richards and his siblings Diana Parsons, Jack Richards, Peggy Merrigan, Mary Goulet (Homer) and Ken Richards. He will be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff for the respect and excellent level of care given to Ivan and his loved ones during his illness.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Menard Funeral Home Blind River, Ontario 705-356-7151 on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral service for the family will be held at Menard Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10am with Jane Graham LLWL officiating. Cremation will follow funeral services. If desired, the family appreciates memorial donations to the North Shore Health Network Blind River Site, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
