Irene passed away peacefully at the Corner Brook
Long Term Care Home on Tuesday, February 28th,
2017, with her loving family at her side. Mom has left us with many
cherished memories. Remembering her with love and affection are her
children; Ann Marie (Peter) Hackett, Dawn (Kevin) Molloy, Gus (Peggy)
Rumboldt, Loretta (Dennis) Basha, Debbie (Dan) Dolomount and Mike
(Jenny) Rumboldt; her grandchildren: Heather, Stephanie, Elizabeth,
Steve, Kevin, Leanne, Paul, April, Danny and Angela; her great
grandchildren: Tyler, Kira, Ethan, Devon, Jackson, Mitchell, Chloe
May, Jack, Katie, Michael and Angus. She will be missed by her only
surviving sibling, Willie Power of Bonavista, as well as many more
nieces, nephews and friends. We are at peace knowing she will be
reunited with those who have predeceased her; Augustus her husband,
parents Heber and Deborah and her siblings before her. Mom will be
missed beyond words and will always be in our hearts. Join us in our
celebration of love for a woman who made a difference to so many.
Visitation will be held at Fillatres’ Funeral Home in
Curling on Thursday, March 2nd from 2-4 and
7-9. Mass will be held on Friday, March 3rd at
11:30, at Sacred Heart Church in Curling with Father Terry Boland
officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
Flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Corner
Brook Long Term Care. We wish to express our gratitude to the Staff of
2 South for their warmth and compassion, the laughter that Mom shared
with them and the most excellent care they provided. Messages of
