Hilda Leier
Hilda passed away peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, on her mother’s 110th birthday, with family members by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Joey Walter, Ray (Velma) Leier, Germaine Bubela, Marty (Edie) Leier and Winnie (Mel) Boehm as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Hilda was predeceased by her parents Charles and Gertrude Leier, sister Jean Zaleschuk, brother Charles Leier, brother-in-law John Walter, sister-in-law Marie Leier and nephew Richard Zaleschuk.
Hilda was born and raised on the family farm in the Allan district. After completing her grade 12 in Saskatoon, she worked at Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance for 35 years. She was a lifetime member of the CWL. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:00 am from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Co-Cathedral, Spadina Crescent and 22nd Street East, Saskatoon, where she faithfully attended daily Mass for many years. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
