Obituary for Hendrikus Henry VanderLinden
It is with great sadness that we, the VanderLinden family announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and friend! He left us at 8am, August 9, 2017. He is survived by Hendrika, his loving children John (Jackee), Rita (Wayne), Gerald (Carmen), Penny (Wally), his grandchildren Sarah (Peter), Megan (Ryan), Sean, Tyler, Danielle (Zach) and his two great- grandchildren Saphira & Serina.
Born in the Netherlands, Henry VanderLinden was born January 3, 1926, he served with the Dutch Marines in WWII, was stationed in Indonesia with the American Marines for almost 3.5 years . He was part of a large contingent of 3200 marines, serving on the troop carrier “Bois Even”. He moved to Canada after the war, owned a garage and a gas station in Sutton with his brother Joe, then settled in Toronto where he worked as a Mechanic for Chrysler Corporation until he
retired! He will be cremated and the family will have a private celebration of his life at his beloved cottage.
