Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness, the family of Helen Ruth Droesbeck, age 94 of River Hebert, announce her passing on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 with family by her side at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Chignecto, NS, she was the daughter of the late David and Elsie (Bowlsby) Wood.
Helen was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary Br. 14 for 50 plus years. In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time at the hunting camp, summers at Heather Beach, baking, knitting mittens and playing cards. She also enjoyed family gatherings, eating out, going for drives and celebrating special occasions.
Helen will be missed by her daughter Gloria (Barry) Dwyer of River Hebert, daughter in-laws Carol Ann of Salisbury, NB, Gloria of Moncton, NB, Loisanne of Springhill, NS and Carolyn of Amherst, NS; grandchildren Sheila, Shelley, Claudette, Troy, Tammy, Trevor, Kellie, Marc, Michael and Morgan; 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Also missed by her friend and caregiver Clarence.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Roger; sons Alex, Stewart and Verden.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 12 – 2 followed by the service at 2 pm with Rev. Clarence Clarke officiating, all held in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
Donations can be made in Helen’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
