Helen Geraldine Simms
1926-2017
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on November 16, 2017,
Mrs. Helen Geraldine (Wheaton) Simms, wife of the late Claude I. Simms
of Blacks Harbour NB.
Born at Saint John NB on August 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the
late Albert and Elizabeth (Dow) Wheaton.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister she is survived by her
daughters; Debbie Boone of Milltown NB and Diane (Barry) Stewart of
Blacks Harbour NB and her sons: William (Catherine) Simms of New River
and James (Susan) of St. Andrews NB, 12 grandchildren as well as one
great granddaughter: Madison, three sisters: Pauline Wood of Pennfield
NB, Audrey Wright of Missouri and Dorothy Holmes of Hamilton ON as
well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her
parents, she was predeceased by her husband Claude. Prior to her
retirement Helen worked for more than 50 years for Connors Brothers in
Blacks Harbour both as a packer and a laborer. She enjoyed cooking and
watching her classic movies. Helen also enjoyed a good laugh as well
as having company especially the fellowship of her family. She will be
missed especially by her family.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no visiting or formal
service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In
Helen’s memory donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association NB or a
Charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
