The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of Community
Hospital, O’Leary of Harry “Ross” MacKay
of Campbellton, aged 81, beloved husband of Sheila (Smith) MacKay.
Born in Campbellton on July 13, 1935, son of the late Harry and Ida
(Bradshaw) MacKay.
Cherished father to Barbie (Glen) Barbour, Alma; Debbie
(Graham) Huddleston, Quispamsis, NB, Jamie (Melanie), Irishtown and
Wendy (Allan) Handrahan, Campbellton. Loving grandfather to MacKayla
(Lucas) Gallant, Jesse, Dakota, Dylynn and Rowgan Barbour,
Christopher, Olivia, Emma Huddleston, Samantha, Sabrina, Dharma
MacKay, Tanner (Amber Arsenault), Bronte, Quaid Handrahan and great
grandchildren Ella and Austin Boyes, Walker Handrahan and Leighton
MacIsaac.
Dear brother to Georgie (Russell) McInnis, Cascumpec; Norma
Condley, Summerside; Marjorie (Andrew) Wood, Howlan; Sylvia (Brian)
Dubikas, Coquitlam, BC; Nancy (Paul) Beattie, Summerside; Linda
Chappell, Summerside; Lila (Jock) Rix, Miminegash and brother in law
to Sally Smith, Hillsborough, NS. Loving Uncle to many nieces and
nephews.
Ross was predeceased by his parents, father and mother in law
Henry and Irene Smith, brothers in law Orville Condley, Lloyd
Ferguson, Jimmy Rix, Terry Chappell, Edward Smith, sister in law
Elizabeth Smith and niece Sherrie McInnis.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel,
O’Leary with visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
Funeral on Friday in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment in the Campbellton
United Church Cemetery.
Brethern from Zetland Lodge # 7, Alberton will hold a
memorial Masonic service for their late brother on Thursday at
9pm.
In memory of Ross, memorials to the Shriners Hospitals for
Children or the College of Piping would be
appreciated.
