Gwendlyn Luella

Gwendolyn Luella Fordyce (Kilworth), better known as Gwen, a long-time resident of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away peacefully with family by her side February 14, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 76 years old. Gwen will be held dearly in the hearts of all who knew her.
Gwen was born in March, 1940 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the younger of two girls born to Victor and Margaret Kilworth. The family lived in Christopher Lake until 1954 when they moved to Dawson Creek, BC. Gwen attended South Peace Senior Secondary and finished grade 11. She obtained grade 12 and her business degree at Notre Dame in 1957.
She met the love of her life at the dentist’s office in 1956. They only talked briefly, but Ken was the milkman and told us he looked for her every time he made a delivery until he found where she lived. They were married in July, 1957. Ken and Gwen started their life together and welcomed three children into their family; Victor, Corrie, and Lorna. They loved fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family. They passed these traits onto their children.
Gwen was a kind, gentle, and loving mother, always a smile on her face, and a giggle or a happy hum. She always helped anyone in whatever way she could. She loved to bake, read, garden, and scrapbook.
Her family includes 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and another on the way. Gwen adored her grandchildren and loved being with them. Gwen always kept in touch with many friends and extended family as this was very important to her. Many people claim she made them feel like they were her “other” children.
Gwen will be lovingly remembered by her children: Victor (Denene) Fordyce, Corrie Fordyce (Tony Sikora), and Lorna (Rick) Stauffer; grandchildren Kenneth Stauffer (Megan Thompson), Kristin (Lee) McKay, Amanda (Deny) Chramosta, and Braden (Kylene) Fordyce, Aaron (Michelle) Sikora, and Michelle (John) Pollard; great-grandchildren Enson McKay, Egan Thompson-Stauffer, and Kackson and Kenna Sikora; sister Ann Meier; sisters in-law Velda Fordyce and Ione Pfrimmer; Gwen also leaves to mourn many cousins, nieces, and nephews (all special to her).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00am at the Bergeron Chapel, Dawson Creek. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the Dawson Creek & District Hospital Foundation, 11100 – 13th Street, Dawson Creek, British Columbia V1G 3W8.
Arrangements entrusted to Bergeron Funeral Services & Crematorium Ltd.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Gwendlyn Luella
