Gwendoline Iona Melanson – 85 of Halifax passed away on October 14, 2017 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary site. Born in Ellershouse, she is the daughter of the later Marion Zwicker and Albert Davies. Gwen is survived by her sister Vivian (Lauchlin) MacDougall and nephew Dan (Sharon) MacDougall, many great nieces and nephews, cousins and especially Sharon Cochrane. Besides her parents, Gwen is predeceased by her husband Raymond. There will be no visitation by request, a Liturgy of the Word Service will be held on Thursday October 19, 2017 at 10:30 am with reception to follow. A private family interment will take place immediately following the reception in St. Croix Cemetery. Donations in Gwen’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Charity of your choice. Special thanks to Gwen’s dear friends Rodger and Marlene Henshaw for being so kind.
