GRAHAM Alice Carrie - August 16

GRAHAM Alice Carrie – August 16, 1925 – January 31, 2017

August 16, 1925 – January 31, 2017
Alice passed away peaceably in her sleep. She is survived by her sister Rose Sinclair of Calgary and her brother Wallace Kober of Tucson, Arizona. She was predeceased by her husband Bob Graham on Dec. 26,1992 and her brother Art Kober of Edmonton. Alice and her husband Bob moved from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Cochrane in 1953, when they purchased the Hart Pharmacy and Ice Cream business. Then in 1956 they began operating as GRAHAM’S PHARMACY at320 – 1st Street West until 1990. In the early years of GRAHAM’S PHARMACY, Alice’s Grey Nun nursing training helped thousands of people in Cochrane and the surrounding area, because Calgary was the only place to get medical help. Therefore, Alice became the town’s “one woman” first aid stop. She loved helping people with her nursing skills and was a tireless worker in the pharmacy, but she was always ready to sit and chat with the customers over coffee. Many customers became life long friends.
Interment will be at the St. Andrew’s Cemetery, 427 Centre Ave. North (Bow Valley Trail to 4th Ave N, then Sunterra Rd right, then Range Rd 42 left), Cochrane at 11:30 a.m., Saturday February 4, 2017, with a memorial service to follow at the Frank Wills Memorial Hall, 405 – 1st Street East, Cochrane at 1:30 p.m.
