Gordon Stephen Drain - 1922-2017

Gordon Stephen Drain
1922-2017
Quietly at Fredericton on March 28, 2017, in his 95th
year.
Loving husband for nearly 72 years of Laurie (Theobald), dear
father of Timothy (Jane Dailey), Susan (Patrick Donahoe) and Hilary
(Edward Bowes). Proud grandfather of Alison and Jonathan Drain,
Margaret Donahoe, and Duncan Bowes.
Born in London, he joined the RAF (Volunteer Reserve) after
grammar school. He trained in the US under the Arnold Scheme and in
Canada, where he met his wife, and flew as a navigator with the 159
Squadron in the Far East. Married in England in 1945, he joined BOAC
(now British Airways) after demobilization, and worked for that
company for most of his distinguished career in human resources, in
Britain, in Canada and in the USA. On retirement he finally achieved
the long-deferred goal of studying law, graduating with his LLB in
1987.
He was a man of great integrity and faith, and he loved his
family dearly.
“Well done, thou good and faithful
servant”
The family is grateful to the staff of the Veterans Health
Unit, Fredericton, for their excellent care. If desired, memorial
donations to a charity of your choice will be appreciated by the
family. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
