Gordon A. Garland
Gordon A. Garland, 93, of the Jordan Lifecare Centre, The
Glades, and formerly of Hillsborough Road, Riverview, passed away
peacefully at his residence on Monday, December 5, 2016. Born in
Gunningsville, he was the son of the late Harry and Ada (Collier)
Garland.
Gordon was retired from CNR Purchasing Department (Senior
Buyer) in Moncton and Halifax with 35 years’ service. He was
a member of Highfield Baptist Church for over 75 years and served his
church on various boards and committees in past years. He was also a
member of the CN Pensioners Association and the Moncton Probus Club.
Gordon will be sadly missed by his brother, Ken Garland
(Marion) of Riverview; nephews, Robert Garland (Nancy), Gerald Garland
(Susan), Gregory Garland (Karen) and Douglas Garland (Gilda) and
special friend, Betty Kelly. In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Lord) Garland (2005) and one
brother, Vernon (1995).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to
celebrate and honor Gordon’s life will be held at Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11:00 am, with
Pastor Gary Barr officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception
Centre following the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial
Gardens.
