Gloria Ann Dawson (nee: Betker)
June 23, 1958 – December 29, 2016
It is with great sadness and pain that the family of Gloria Ann Dawson announce that she passed away suddenly in the afternoon of December 29, 2016 at the age of 58 years. Gloria was born to Rudolph and Lucy (nee: Crawford) Betker on June 23, 1958. She was raised on the family farm with her brothers and sisters near Leask and attended school in Leask.
Eventually, Gloria met and married her soul mate David Dawson and in time their daughter, Hayley was born to them. Over the years Gloria worked at various jobs, one of which was the task of helping in the education program on a local Hutterite colony. Several times over the years Gloria and Dave enjoyed trips to and time in Dave’s native England. Their time together fostered many memories.
Gloria is lovingly remembered by her loving husband, David Dawson and their daughter, Hayley (Tom) Flemington and their son Zackary, as well as her siblings, Marvin Betker, Judy Jordan (Rick Maines) and Brenda Betker (Les Jessop) and Judy’s son, Christopher Jordan.
Gloria is predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph and Lucy Betker; her brothers, Roy and Maurice Betker; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Pauline Betker and maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Joan Crawford, as well as an infant sister.
A memorial service for Gloria will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2:00PM at St. Henry’s Catholic Church at Leask, SK with Lorne Valuck officiating. There will be no interment following.
Donations in Gloria’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
