Glenna Gilman
1951-2017
Glenna Margaret (Penney) Gilman, loving wife of Carl Gilman,
of Lincoln, NB passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Fredericton
Hospice House, at the age of 65. Born in Yarmouth, NS on December 23,
1951, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Phyllis
Penney.
She retired from the DND at CFB Gagetown in 2013 where she
spent most of her career. She was a very talented crafter and
especially loved making cards with friends. After her retirement, she
loved spending time at the cottage in Charlotte County, NB which
became her second home.
Glenna is survived by devoted husband Carl; daughter, Christa
Woodworth (Jeremy) of Tracy, NB; 2 step-daughters, Cynthia Fleming of
Wendover, ON and Sheri Gilman of Orleans, ON; 1 step-son, Timothy
Gilman (Janelle) of Thornton, ON; 6 grandchildren, Katelyn,
Jacob, Wade, Brooke, Maxwell, and Oliver; 1 great granddaughter,
Mikayla; 2 sisters, Ann Penney of Burton, NB and Emma Furzer (Muir) of
Strathmore, AB; 1 brother Jim Penney (Shelley) of Oromocto, NB; and
Glenna was also blessed with many nieces, nephews as well as a large
circle of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on
Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. In keeping with
Glenna’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
Her ashes will be laid to rest in the Moores Mills Cemetery at a later
date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fredericton
Hospice House or a charity of your choice.
