It is with great sadness that the family of Gertrude Lachance (nee Steffes) announces her passing on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the age of 97 years.
Mom was born on September 9, 1920 in Morinville, Alberta. In 1942 she married her beloved husband Gerry and moved to the family farm in Vimy, where they raised their four children before moving to St. Albert.
Gertrude is survived by her son, Arthur (Francesca); daughter, Lorraine (Wayne) Rissling; and son, Robert; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Dorothy Saunders.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gerard (1988); and her daughter, Mavis Ann Iampen (1969).
While she is no longer with us, her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
A special thank you to the staff at Youville Home for the compassionate care given to our Mother in her final years.
