Gerard Fontaine
December 16, 1940 – March 4, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerard Lucien Fontaine at the St. Boniface General Hospital on Saturday March 4th 2017 in Winnipeg Manitoba at the age of 76.
Gerard was pre-deceased by his parents Omer Fontaine and Dianna (Wilcott) Fontaine and brother Roger Fontaine.
Gerard leaves behind his 3 children; daughter Lynne (Fontaine) Pippus , son Daniel Fontaine(Carol), daughter Carole Fontaine, 6 grandchildren; Nathan, Cody, Nikki, Austin, Nicholas, Ariana, siblings; Oscar, Cecile, Leo, Armand, Roland, Edgar, Yvonne, Robert, Loraine and many friends.
After years of being in construction as a drywaller, then returning to the life of a professional highway driver Gerard spent the last year’s of his life as a School bus driver until his retirement.
Gerard would often be found enjoying the company of friends, family and the staff at Salisbury House at the corner of St. Anne’s Road and Fermor Avenue.
Gerard will be missed by all who new him.
Cremation has taken place on March 6th 2017. As per his request there will be no funeral scheduled.
