George William Liska – March 31st, 2017

LISKA, George William
February 23, 1943 – March 31, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce that George William Liska has lost his very brave battle with cancer on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the age of 74 years. George was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, but he called Red Deer home for over 40 years. George will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna Cividino; son, Dustin Liska; daughter, Barbara Hogan; granddaughters, Cheney, Shayla, and Cassidee; sister, Martina; brother, Vincent; and many other extended family and friends in BC and Alberta. George was predeceased by his parents, Vince and Rita; first wife, Betty-Lou Liska; daughter, Rhonda; great friend and brother, Ron; and son-in-law, Ed Hogan, who he is sure to be fishing with at this very moment.
George was a valued employee for more than 20 years in Walmart in Red Deer, and he will be greatly missed by his Walmart family as well. George requested there be no funeral and no flowers in his name, instead, donations may be made to Red Deer General Hospital, PO Bag 5030, Red Deer, AB, T4N 6R2 (and specify either Central Alberta Cancer Centre OR Unit 32, Palliative Care). Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, care-givers, EMT’s and staff for all their help and care. Rest in peace, George.
You will be loved and missed always
