George Edward Ogilvie

George Ogilvie of Ponoka, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Care Centre on Jan. 23, 2017 at the age of 81 years.
George was born on Feb. 14, 1935 to parents Maggie May and Ruggless and was the second youngest of 7 siblings.
George is survived by the love of his life Marlene and 7 daughters: Rita (Craig) Clements, Sheila (Doug) Zielke, Pat (Reg) Weatherill, Bonnie (Jerry) Andres, Marisa (Wayne) Hood, Rhanda Rose (Jim), Leeanne Rose (Steve); 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. George is also survived by his brother Hubert (Joan) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. George was predeceased by his parents Maggie May and Ruggless, sister Katie and brothers: Pete, Mickey, Fred, John; and 3 grandchildren: Melika, Mya, Tamara.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponoka Legion Hall (3911 Hwy 2A, Ponoka). Interment to follow at the Ponoka Forest Home Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society (#1, 5550-45 St. Red Deer, AB T4N 1L1) or the Rimbey Care Centre, Area 2(PO Box 440, 5228 – 50th Ave Rimbey AB, T0C 2J0).
