George Carter
1942-2017
George F.
Carter, 75 years of age, of Fort Lawrence, passed away
suddenly on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Born in Sackville, NB, he was
a son of the late Walter & Dorothy (Fillmore)
Carter.
George worked hard as a truck driver for
over 50 years and a life time farmer. He thrived on driving a truck
ever since he was a young boy, being known as a skillful truck
driver. He had a great sense of humor, wit and loved to tell
stories. He could make most anyone laugh. George always had a smile on
his face. He took great pride in the type of cattle he
raised with his favorite breed being the Hereford. In his younger
years he was well know for his brute strength, serving as anchorman
for various tug of war teams. George enjoyed spending time in the
woods; It was a vision to see his skillful attributes in
handling a team of horses with a sled load of logs. George was known
as a very hard worker and the community in which he loved could set
their clocks by his punctual daily departures with the dump
truck.
He will be sadly missed by his loving
wife, Marilyn, daughter, Dorothy, whom he thought the sun rose and set
on; sister Edith Fisher of Amherst; sister in laws, Carol Thompson of
Vancouver, BC, Brenda Matthews, Kamloops, BC, Gail Tower (Courtney) of
Sackville, NB; brother in laws, Brian Thompson (Sharon), Darrell
Thompson (Michelle), Ken Thompson (Judy), Frank Thompson (Lorraine)
all of Prince George BC., several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by his father and mother in law Laurie & Annie Thompson,
brother in laws, Fred Fisher, Murray Thompson, sister in
law, Lori Annie Thompson.
