Gayle Patricia White
1951-2017
It is with great sadness that the family of Gayle White of
New Maryland, announce her passing at Hospice House, Fredericton,
Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Gayle leaves behind her loving husband,
Eric White, of 44 years. She was the daughter of the late Spencer and
Betty (Dibb) Price of Doaktown.
Also left to grieve is her daughter, Erika Creally (Jason) of
Ottawa and son, Jason White (Stephanie) of Fredericton; five
grandchildren are left without their loving grandmother – Owen, Liam,
Quinn and Cailyn Creally and Anna White. Gayle also leaves behind her
sister, Janice Taylor (Brent) of Stratford, PE; brother-in-law, Robert
White; sisters-in-law, Cindy Manzer (Fraser) and Sally Price; as well
as many friends. In addition to her parents Gayle was also predeceased
by her brother, Terry Price.
Gayle was an elegant and vibrant lady who loved life. She
faced cancer the same way she approached everything in life; with a
positive attitude and a friendly smile. She enjoyed being active and
loved the outdoors. In the summer she was in her gardens, golfing,
walking, or heading to a beach. She didn’t slow down any in the winter
months, going to a gym, curling, skating and skiing down the slopes at
Crabbe Mountain. She was a certified ski instructor and taught on the
weekends for many years.
Gayle loved to travel and spent many summer vacations at Old
Orchard Beach with her family and friends. Her and Eric made trips to
the UK, continental Europe and the Mediterranean as well as numerous
trips to the Carribean islands. She was part of a Fredericton travel
group called the Blue Bandanas!
Gayle started her career working in the NB Government’s Data
Processing Center where Eric was also employed at the time. Gayle went
on to work for several private sector computer companies and recently
retired from CGI Information and Management Systems after 16 years of
employment.
Gayle has chosen cremation and her family will place her
ashes in the Hermitage Catholic Cemetery in Fredericton at a later
date.
There will be no funeral service. The family will receive
visitors in a social setting on Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 1 pm
– 5 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Junior Ballroom, Mezzanine
Level. Gayle’s five grandchildren will be serving Grammie’s chocolate
chip and scotch cookies, if they don’t eat them all
first.
