Foster, Ruth Winnifred (nee Smith) WWII Veteran – after years of a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Ruth went to be with the Lord on June 9th 2017 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of Jack Foster. Loving mother of Roy (Mary-Lou) Hewitt, the late Ron Hewitt, Dale Hewitt, Bob (Tana) Foster and Jill (Gord) Hills. She is remembered by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth is predeceased by her brother Ron Smith. Ruth loved to be with people and she loved to sing, she was a member of the Stirling Gospelairs and a retired member of the Toronto Metro Police Association. The Memorial Service will be held at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow with inurnment at Belleville Cemetery later in the day. The family wish to extend their thanks to the staff of Westgate Lodge for their care and support.
