Service Details
Edward Ewalt Winter passed away peacefully at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the age of 93 years.
Edward was born in Bashaw, Alberta on July 9, 1924 the eleventh child of fifteen born to Rudolph and Hilda Winter. Edward went to Bonnie Brae School at Bashaw until grade 9. On April 16, 1952 Edward married Ella and they lived in Ferintosh for two years until moving to the present farm just north of Ponoka where they have been farming for 63 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Deborah, Dale (Margaret), and Joyce; three grandchildren Helena (Josh), Lisa, and Dale Jr.; four great-grandchildren Trent, Aleah, Brandtly, and Annabella; his sister Ruby Gialet; sisters-in-law Shirley Winter and Joyce Polei; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Rudolph and Hilda Winter; his wife Ella Winter; as well as many brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ponoka at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 with Pastor Tim Graff officiating. The Interment Service will follow at the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
