1921-2017
Ed Rain of The Veterans’ Health Center, Moncton, and formerly
of Riverview, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017. Born in
Moosejaw, SK, he was the son of the late Carl and Lillian (Evoy)
Rain.
He will be dearly missed by his sons: Larry (Bobbi), Ronald
(Sandra); grandchildren: Todd, Trevor, Misty, Kerrilee, Kelli, Doug,
and Dave; as well as several great-grandchildren. Besides his parents,
he was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Riley) Rain in 2008 and
Brother Cecil.
Ed was a veteran of WWII having served overseas with the
Royal Canadian Navy from 1942-1945. He was the former owner of
Downey’s Grocery in Bridgedale (Charlie Brown Store) and was
also employed with Swift Canada for twenty-nine years. He was a member
of The Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Assoc., St Paul’s
United Church and the Bridgedale Seniors’
Group.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00pm, with
The Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Assoc. holding a memorial
service at the funeral home at 5:45pm. A funeral service will take
place at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel at 1:00pm on Friday,
November 10, 2017 with Rev. Steve Berube officiating. The interment
will follow in Alderwood Cemetery. Donations can be made in
Ed’s memory to the Hospice Moncton or a memorial of the
donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed at
