August 24, 1949 – February 15, 2017
Edie was born and raised in Montreal, PQ with her three brothers and one sister. She moved to Vancouver, BC in the early 1970’s relocating briefly to Nanaimo and then back to Vancouver where she gave birth to her two loving daughters. Edie and her family moved to Calgary in 1981 where she lived until her death. Edie took great pride in her life long career in the Insurance Industry working for a number of different companies across Canada, eventually retiring from the CoOperators in 2015.
Edie leaves behind her daughters Joanne (Jeff) Haugjord and Danielle Boulay. Edie also leaves behind the lights of her life, her three grand-daughters Kennedy, Hanna and Ava Haugjord. Any one who had the chance to talk with Edie knows that any conversations you had with her were sure to include some story about her granddaughters. Edie would also like to give special mention to the father of her children, ex husband and friend Dave Boulay with whom she spent many wonderful years. Edie is also survived by her siblings Fred Wareing of Port Severn, ON, Edward Wareing of Montreal, PQ, Frances Warenig of Vancouver BC and Tom Wareing of Vancouver BC; nephew Kris Wareing of Calgary, AB; niece Dana Wareing of Mississauga, ON and her dear dog Booboo. Edie was pre deceased by her mother Ellen and her father Alfred.
Edie will be remembered as the most loving, gentle and generous, mother, sister, aunt, friend and grandmother.
Edie would like to say that even though she succumbed to this final battle that Cancer CAN BE BEATEN, Edie fought 4 separate battles with 4 different cancers, succumbing to the final battle with dignity and grace on February 15, while holding her daughter’s hands.
