Dwayne T. Black of Oakville, NB passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 at the Upper Waterville Hospital at the age of 56. Dwayne was blessed to have grown up on a potato and cattle farm, from this grew a great passion for farming. His careers always followed his passion, with his own hoof trimming business and being an A1 technician. He was a long-time member of the Canadian and Maritime Hereford Associations. He enjoyed many hours of preparing and showing cattle, with his greatest show ring accomplishment being winning Reserved Grand Champion at the Royal Winter Fair. Dwayne had a great enthusiasm for being involved in several steer shows throughout the Maritimes where he made many lifelong friends. Dwaine always pulled for the underdog. He constantly went out of his way to help those in need. When he saw a need his compassionate heart took over to help meet it. His family was of the utmost importance to him. He had an abundance of love and concern for his family and friends. Dwayne was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Garnella (Bell) Black. He is survived by his wife Lisa Carter; one son Brock E. Black; one daughter Candace C. Black; two brothers Terry (Connie) Black of Bloomfield, NB, and Dale (Lisa) Black of Bloomfield, NB; nieces and nephews Pam Black, Shawn Black, Meghan Black, Ashley Black, Nathan and Allison Black. He is resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB with visitation on Monday Aug. 14, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 15th, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mike Grant will be officiating, assisted by Pastor Donnie MacDougal. The interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to a Living Memorial, which may be placed in person at the funeral home, would be appreciated by the family. www.scottfh.com
