Duane passed away suddenly on September 17, 2017 at the age of 69 years. He is survived by Pauline, his spouse of 40 years and brothers Eldon (Linda) of Saskatoon, Ardean (Yvonne) of Calgary and Dennis (Lorie) of Saskatoon. He was predeceased by his parents Emanuel and Marcela Braun and his brother Gary. Duane attended the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained a degree in Arts and Science (Geology) in 1969. He spent his entire working career as a mine geologist with Inco, Manitoba Division, in Thompson. Upon retiring, he and Pauline moved to Winnipeg.
