It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Dorothy Mae Miller which occurred quietly at home on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017. Born 1942, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late George Brown. Dorothy worked as a Home Care Worker for several years. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and The Royal Family.
Dorothy is survived by her companion Blair Johnson of 12 years; sons John Torrie (Julia), Steven Torrie (Raymond), Philip Torrie all of Saint John and Bryce Torrie (Leah) of Windsor, ON; daughter Jacqueline London (Mark) of Saint John; sister May Walker (Gerald) of Maces Bay; grandchildren Angela, Liza, Corey, Autumn, Brandon, Kaely, Jonathan, Bryce, and Ryan; several great grandchildren; special friend Joe; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved daughter Candice, her brother Bryce Brown and sister Agnes White.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, December 28th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the former St. Joachim’s Church (603 Loch Lomond Rd.) on Friday, December 29th at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue, Salvation Army, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
