McCLURE, Dorothy N – Peacefully at University Hospital, London on Friday, October 6, 2017 following a brief illness, Dorothy Norma McClure, in her 90th year. Dear sister of John (Lucille) McClure of London. She was predeceased by her sister Florence Swinden (Fred), brothers Frank (Kay), Clare (Jenny), Herb (Geraldine) and Fred (Edith) McClure. Born in 1927 to the late Jesse and Emma (Atkinson) McClure. Dorothy chose nursing as her life’s work, both in public health practice and in teaching and administration. She retired from Hamilton Health Sciences (McMaster) in 1992 and enjoyed her home “at the Lake” at Port Franks, Ontario for many years, along with travels to many parts of the world, and singing with the Forest Community Singers. She moved to London in 2011. Dorothy will be missed and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews spanning three generations. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where a memorial service will be conducted in the chapel at 11:00 am. Inurnment of ashes at Woodland Cemetery, London.
