FATHERS; Doreen Mina
At Grey Gables Nursing Home, Markdale on January 9, 2017 of Markdale in her 98th year. Dear mother of Helen(Raymond) Elliott of Caledon East, Peter(Janet) Fathers of Manitoulin Island, and the late David(2016). Loved and remembered by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by beloved family in England, especially Janice and Nicholas. Doreen is reunited with beloved husband Donald(1998), son David(2016) and her sister Christine Carter(2014). Also predeceased by 2 grandchildren.
Doreen was born in England, where she started her family, and emigrated to Canada in 1963. Doreen loved her garden. You could always tell where she lived because of the colourful gardens outside. She was a member of Annesley United Church for the last 15 years, the Markdale Horticultural Society, the Holdfast Group in Flesherton and found a true joy when cooking, especially when it was someone’s birthday. Doreen enjoyed time with her great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Doreen’s life will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to the Grey Gables Nursing Home Activity Fund or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
