McMullen, Donald Ross, Sgt. (1920 – 2017)
The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Thursday February 23, 2017 at the age of 96 years. Son of the late Percyrill McMullen and of the late Lillooet (née Newman) McMullen. Predeceased by his wife Eleonor (née Wallington) McMullen. Loving father of Darlene Pitt (Pat) of Field. Predeceased by his step-son, Georges Skip McMullen. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Mike, Angie, Jim and by his great-grandchildren, Brittany, Hanna and Cassandra. Predeceased by his brothers, Ivor, Eugene, Mark and by his sister Betty. Sgt. Donald Ross McMullen was a world war two veteran. He enrolled in the Royal Canadian Artillery in 1939 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean area and Continental Europe. In June of 1945, he was published in the London Gazette as mentioned in a Despatch, for distinguished service. His family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Rita Trottier and Lynn Beauchamps for their excellent care and compassion over the years. A graveside service and Legion tribute will be held in the spring. Funeral arrangements in care of Theoret Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.
