1934-2017
Donald Milton Keiver, 83, of Forest Dale Home, formerly of
Midway, passed away on November 24th, 2017 at the Moncton City
Hospital with his family by his side.
Donnie was born in Harvey, NB, on March 26th, 1934, the son
of the late Howard and Susan (Stuart) Keiver.
For many years he was a much loved bus driver and enjoyed
getting to know all students who crossed his path, many of whom he
kept in touch with. He was proud of being a farmer and garnered much
joy from raising beef and hogs. He had a love for all animals,
especially his dogs and cats, many of whom seemed to happen upon the
Midway road as strays. Donnie held his community in high regard and
always helped out in any way he could. He loved the Albert County
Exhibition, and played a critical role in laying the foundation for
the much anticipated event each year. He felt privileged to be
appointed an Honorary Director. As a member of the board of the
Forestdale nursing home, he was the driving force behind brining the
nursing home to Riverside Albert. He was also a committed board member
of the Bennett and Albert Health Care Foundation and the Moncton City
Hospital. He was an active and interested lifelong member of the
Albert County Liberal Association. He helped out at the Community
Pasture for many years ensuring things ran smoothly. Donnie had a gift
for public speaking and an ability to relate to people from all walks
of life. In his spare time Donnie enjoyed camping and travelling with
his wife of 60 years, Joan. He was passionate about everything he did
and will be remembered for his strong will and
determination.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Joan (Enman)
Keiver; his children, sons Terry Keiver (Tammy) of Hillsborough, Dana
Keiver (Cheryl) of Riverview, and Jamie Keiver (Kelly) of Midway; his
daughter Susan Carleton (Shaun) of Ontario; his treasured
grandchildren, Emma, Zachary, Kasey, Sara, Autumn, Avery, Courtney,
Samantha, and Matthew. Donnie was the last surviving member of his
immediate family. He will also be missed by several nieces and
nephews, all his extended family, and by his in-laws.
Besides his parents Donnie was predeceased by his brother
Stuart; sister Eleanora.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral with
visitation on Monday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be
held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017
at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating. Internment will be
held in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, Albert County, NB
In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA and Bayview
