Donald Alvin Yerex – 2016

On December 20, 2016, Donald Alvin Yerex of Edmonton passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Kay; daughters, Barb (Brian) and Carol (Jim); seven grandchildren, Jenny (Brad), Sarah (Andrew), Laura (Sheldon), Eddie, Christine (Brennan), Stephen (Amber) and Evan (Nikki); twelve grandchildren, Gavin, Ava, Finnley, Fred, Lydia, Sydney, Spencer, Karlee, Bailee, Lexi, Kacie and Bonnie; and older brother, Robert.
Don will be fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his love for his family, and his response to the offer of dessert “That’ll be fine”. He enjoyed spending his summers with his family at the cottage at Gull Lake, where his daughters and their families will cherish his memory for summers to come.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Units 45 and 54 of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during his time there.
A Celebration of Donald’s Life will be held January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Ottewell United Church, 6611 – 93A Avenue. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made in his name to Ottewell United Church or a charity of one’s choice.
