Obituary of Dolores Bastien
BASTIEN: Dolores Anne (nee DeFields) –
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 23, 2017 at Maple City Residence in Chatham. Beloved wife of Ivan for 57 years, Dolores was mother to John (Viviane), Ted (Rose), and Kate (Walter), grandmother to (the late) Carmen, Tanya (Liz), Phillip, Andrew, Sean and Eva, and great grandmother to Tucker and Aspen.
Born in Walkerville in 1933 to Clarence and Betty DeFields, Dolores graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. in Pharmacy in 1956 and worked for many years in the communities of Windsor, Tilbury and Petrolia. Following their retirement Dolores and Ivan became “snowbirds”, wintering in Alva Florida and spending the warmer months in Oil Springs, Wheatley, then Chatham, Ontario.
Per Dolores’ wishes, there will be no formal celebration of her life. Donations in her name can be made to the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance or to the charity of your choice.
