Dirk Kranendonk (Okotoks) – January 28, 1932 – February 3, 2017

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Dirk Kranendonk passed away peacefully surrounded by his family February 3, 2017 at the age of 85 years.
Dirk was born in Ijsselmonde Rotterdam, Netherlands January 28, 1932, the fourth of six children to parents Arie and Peitje. He met his wife Geertruida in Holland and the couple married December 18, 1957. In February 1958 they immigrated to Canada beginning their new life in Calgary, Alberta where they lived until 1991. Dirk… and Trudy then moved to High River, AB. In 2013 they moved again and settled in Okotoks, AB.
Dirk is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Geertruida ‘Trudy’; daughter Darlene (Mark) Rempel; grandchildren Jeremiah (Shelley) Rempel and Christopher (Ashlea)Rempel ; and 2 great grandchildren Haylea and Avery Rempel; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Dirk was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters and a brother.
