Obituary for Dennis Livingstone
With heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of Dennis” Archie” Livingstone after a long and courageous battle with illness, on August 12, 2017 with his family by his side.
Archie, as he was known by his many family friends, was born to Bertha and Arthur Livingstone on March 2, 1940 in McIrvine, ON. He met the love of his life Shirley “Bugs” Wagner whom he married on January 21, 1961. They were married for 56 years and had 3 children together. They lived in Fort Frances, Dryden and International Falls. Archie worked for Kingsway Motors, then her later opened Sunset Shell with his wife where they eventually retired.
They spent their retired winters traveling, including many winters with friends in Florida. In the summer Archie loved to be outside with his family and spent many days fishing, cutting firewood, gardening and walking their dogs. Archie and Bug were always fishing and had someone tagging along including their children, grandchildren, friends and dogs. He was always helping anyone in need. His gentle, calm demeanor and sense of humour was admired by his many friends and family.
Archie was predeceased by his immediate family members; his parents Arthur and Bertha Livingstone, infant daughter Shari-Lee, two sisters Audrey Lloyd and Shirley (Nick) Mutz. He also joins several extended family members in heaven. He leaves behind his loving wife Shirley, his daughter Shelly (Greg) Gustafson, his son Dan, his grandchildren Bryan (Bre) Gustafson, Danielle (Adam) Mitchell, and great-grandson Declan Mitchell. He leaves behind numerous sister and brother-in-laws, beloved nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held Sunday August 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Shelly and Greg Gustafson’s home (1425 Hwy 11 E.). All family and friends are welcome to attend. Honouray pallbearers are Gerri Mutz, Dave Mutz, Richard Mutz, Tim & Laura Mutz, Lori& Greg Shoemaker, and Tania & Don Angus.
