David Cooper – 2017

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of David on February 9, 2017 at Lisaard House Hospice, after a courageous battle with cancer at 62 years of age. Beloved husband to Heather (nee Burgess). Cherished Dad to Erin (Erick), Mitchell, Cal (Katie) Cooper and much loved Granda to William, Bailey, Andrew, Sam and Olive. Lovingly remembered by his sister Joan (John) Glendinning, nephews Darren and Ryan, and his sister Doris (Derek) McMillen of Ireland. Predeceased by his parents Olive and Davey, much loved sister Sheelagh Fife, parents-in-law Willie and Mable Burgess and sister-in-law Carol Bailie. David will always hold a special place in the hearts of his sisters-in-law Anne, Lorraine, Sylvia, Rosemary, Jennifer, Noreen, Gillian, Eileen and brother-in-law William in Ireland, as well as his brother-in-law Arthur in the Isle of Man. He will never be forgotten by his long-time friends Linda and Garry, his many nieces and nephews in Ireland and his wide circle of friends. David was a devoted supporter of Liverpool FC and a dedicated follower of his music idol Sir Van Morrison (Van the Man). Special thanks to the staff of Medical Day Care, Cambridge, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph and Lisaard House Hospice, Cambridge. Cremation has taken place. The family will welcome friends at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, on Tuesday, February 14th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Memorial service will be held at Forward Church, 455 Myers Rd., Cambridge, on Wednesday, February 15th at 11:00am. Interment at New Hope Cemetery, 235 Cooper St., Cambridge, on Thursday, February 16th. Donations made to the Lisaard House Hospice, 990 Speedsville Rd., Cambridge, ON, N3H 4R6 would be appreciated by the family.
